Rena earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Oregon State University in 1996. She spent the next seven years In Oregon working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional, House Manager, and Behavior Specialist. In 2003, Rena returned home to Georgia and continued her career path, as a Client Services Coordinator, Program Manager and ultimately Division Director overseeing multiple services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community based settings. Rena spent several years gaining a solid understanding of Georgia’s policies and procedures while becoming a dedicated advocate for individuals and families, as well as gaining an appreciation for shaping the careers of future leaders in the field. In 2013, Rena earned her Master of Science Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. In May of 2016, Rena joined the Georgia Options team as Executive Director. Rena strongly believes that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities should have the opportunity to live active, self-determined lives fully included within their chosen communities.
