Who We Are |
|
How We’re Funded Georgia Options is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. We have an annual budget of approximately $3 million.
The overwhelming majority of our funding comes from Medicaid Waivers. A Medicaid Waiver is a stream of federal and state funding appropriated for the community-based services of a person with a disability. In Georgia, Medicaid Waiver services are jointly overseen by the Department of Community Health and the Department of Human Services (formerly the Department of Human Resources). A person’s access to a Medicaid Waiver is determined by need, disability and funding availability. We receive a small amount of state funds.
The Role of Private Support · People pay their own bills and their own rent. · For those needs not covered by Medicaid or private income, we write community-based grants (local churches, local foundations). |
