Who We Are

We are a community of more than 40 people with disabilities, their families, their friends, over 100 staff and lots of community supporters— all of whom believe that people with disabilities can live in their own homes.

We accept that real life is messy.

We put people before paperwork.

We occasionally disagree about how to best support each person we serve, but we keep talking.

We hold fast to our vision and work everyday to achieve it.

We cannot pay staff what they’re worth.

We know that it’s the details that give a person’s life richness.

We are committed to staying small.

We are an organization that makes mistakes from time to time.

We laugh a lot and cry occasionally.

We are committed to responsible stewardship of our financial resources.

We think the people we support should hire their own companions.

We believe true quality of supports comes from knowing people really, really well.

We believe that if a person fires Georgia Options, we leave, she stays in her home.

We believe “home” takes many forms: a house, a duplex, an apartment, a mobile home.

We believe that “home” is a human right of all people.

We stretch our own limits and those of the system that governs us.

We celebrate even the smallest success.

We sometimes have no idea how to handle a challenge.

We keep trying.

We know who we are.
